Roughometer 2 by ARRB Group is a second‑generation road roughness acquisition and reporting software designed for rapid, low‑cost pavement condition surveys. Used with the Roughometer 2 vehicle‑mounted sensor package, it applies the response‑type measurement method to quantify ride quality and reports results in International Roughness Index (IRI) and NAASRA counts. The software provides real‑time feedback, robust quality control, and streamlined reporting to support network screening, maintenance planning, and before‑and‑after works assessments on both sealed and unsealed roads.
Key features:
- Real‑time roughness computation and display by user‑defined segment lengths (for example, 100 m or 0.1 mi), with instantaneous and cumulative values
- GPS integration for georeferenced data, mapping, and event markers
- Distance input and speed monitoring to ensure measurements remain within valid operating ranges
- Built‑in calibration and verification workflows to maintain consistency with reference sections
- Quality control tools, including repeat‑run checks, speed compliance flags, and sensor health indicators
- Project and route management with lane/direction metadata and operator notes
- Flexible outputs and reports, with export to CSV and common GIS‑ready formats for easy integration into asset management systems
Benefits:
- Fast setup on a standard vehicle for network‑level surveys
- Consistent, repeatable roughness data to prioritize maintenance and track performance over time
- Intuitive interface that reduces training time and improves field productivity
Note: Roughometer 2 software is designed to operate with the Roughometer 2 hardware and compatible distance/GPS inputs. ARRB Group provides training, technical support, and calibration guidance.
Roughometer 2 is developed by ARRB Group. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 3.0 and 3.4. The name of the program executable file is Roughometer.exe.
